Macedonia Baptist offers numerous opportunities for people of all ages to connect and study the Bible in Sunday school classes at 9:30 a.m.
We invite you to take a look and find the class that best suits your spiritual needs.
While you attend a class, we also have secure options for your kids! After you check your child in, they will be escorted back to a class dedicated to their specific age group. Currently, our classes are divided as follows:
Our Kid Connect Jr class serves kids between 3-5 years old. This takes place during our 10:30am worship service. This is a chance for kids to learn foundational truth’s from God’s word. Our volunteers work hard to make sure the kid’s understand how much God loves them.
The Kid Connect Worship service is for 1st-5th graders on Sunday morning. This group also meets during the Sunday morning worship service. The service is filled with music, games, and small group activities that help kids connect with God’s word. We use the 252 Kids curriculum from Orange.
We believe that one of our vital ministries at MBC is our MBC Kids Choir. The Kids Choir meets on Wednesday nights (6p.m. - 7 p.m.) during the school year. It is for kids K-5th grade. This group regularly helps lead worship during our Sunday morning services. They also perform a Christmas play every December.
👉 MBC Nursery
Our MBC Nursery is located downstairs from the Education Building lobby. It is available for both Sunday school and during the worship service. If it is your first visit please make sure you check in at the desk located in the Education Building.
👉 Frequently Asked Questions
Students in middle school and high school meet together on Sunday mornings. Our study is usually tied into what we are studying during our small group time on Sunday nights. Our hope is that this time encourages students to grow in their faith and connect with other students their age.
Macedonia Student Ministry (MSM) exists to help students know Jesus and love Jesus. Our goal is to see students become real, authentic followers of Christ. We believe this happens through small groups, missions, and belonging to a community with other likeminded students.
Small Groups
Small groups are a vital part of MSM. We want to give students a safe place they can work out their faith. Age and gender specific groups give students a better chance to connect with others in their group. Each of our small groups are led/facilitated by a volunteer.
📆 Small Groups meet on Sunday nights at 6 p.m.
Community Wide Student Events
A few times a year we gather with other student ministries across Cherokee County for Student events. We have IMPACT Weekend in the Spring, Jerusalem Project in the summer, and a SYATP event together in the fall. These events build great community throughout the county. It is different churches coming together for the same mission.
Summer Missions
Each June MSM goes on a summer mission trip. We believe in choosing trips where students can step into leadership roles and get out of their comfort zones. These trips allow students to see how rewarding it is to serve others and share their faith. Our goal is always for these trips to impact our lives back home as well. MSM served in Atlanta in 2022, then in New Orleans in 2023! We are working on planning the summer of 2024 trip now.
Winter Retreat
Our students head to Wafloy Mountain Villiage for our annual Winter Retreat during the last weekend of January. This is a time for us to escape all of our normal distractions and focus on our relationship with Christ.
The college class serves students who are in college and those of similar age who have already started their career. This class is highly discussion based.
Our SALT Class is our most popular class for parents. This class uses different books as their curriculum on Sunday mornings. They are currently doing a series through the book, “Experiencing God”. One of the benefits of this class is that it is discussion based. It’s less of the teacher talking and more of the whole group interacting together. This helps take what they have learned from the lesson and apply it to their everyday lives.
The Sonshine class is a mix of all ages and is led by Sheila Smalley. This class uses “Bible Studies for Life” from Lifeway. They are involved with sending cards, reaching out in prayer, and helping with direct needs as they are made aware.
This class is led by Dot Clary. The ages range from people in their 40s to people in their 70s. There is also a mix of married couples as well as singles. They are currently using a book titled, “The Time is Near” for their weekly study. Both deep bible study and topical study occur in this class.
The Pairs & Spares class is a good mix of marital statuses and ages. This class is for those who prefer a more comprehensive study of the Bible. It tends to be more teacher-led but does include time for everyone to share their input.
This class currently meets in our church Worship Center and is led by Bas Wray. As the name suggests, they study the main beliefs that Baptist hold.
We have a variety of different Men’s and Women’s classes that meet throughout the church each week. You are more than welcomed to try one or all of these out as you look for where you fit best. Below is a list of those classes and who currently leads them.
